Polyolefin and other plastic films have a tendency to stick together, which is called blocking. Antiblocking additives can be mixed into the plastic to reduce the adhesion between film layers and minimize blocking. The effectiveness of the additives is determined by the number and size of the particles in the film and they can be made from synthetic silica, limestone or talc.
